It's a ......

BOY!!!!

We had our ultrasound last Thursday, and were able to see that there is a little boy in there! We had a hard time getting a good picture because this little guy never stops moving. He was bouncing all over the place! Both the baby and I got a good report from Merrie! He is growing steadily. My belly is growing steadily. The baby sounds good and all measurements are right on track! From the looks of our ultrasound, Merrie said this kid has long legs and big feet!!

We will go back in a couple of weeks for another prenatal visit and Merrie will check again to make sure that we are still having a boy! We are so excited to have a perfect set!!! We started tackling the baby name books this weekend. We got through the A's and the B's. At this rate, we'll be lucky to get through the book before the baby is born! We have a couple of possibilities for names, but are going to continue looking just to be sure. I'll tell you what our final choice is!

Also, we went to register on Saturday. It wasn't the gigantic task that it was when I was pregnent with Isabel. We were in and out of Target in about 20 minutes and only spent about an hour in Babies R Us. Not too shabby!! We did run into a doula seminar while we were at Babies R Us, and while inquiring about the doula we used during Isabel's birth, we were introduced to Merrie's assistant Candace who is a doula and who will be at my birth assisting!! What are the chances of that? We loved Candace immediately, and are excited to have her there to help us have this baby!!

Well, all in all everything is going very well. I have been having lower back pain for a couple of weeks now and it is slowly getting worse. We are going to Phoenix for Druh's graduation in a couple of weeks and when I come back I am getting a massage. Hopefully that will help relieve the aches. As with Isabel, I will probably have a massage once a month until I deliver. It was such a big help the first time around. I'm relaxing just thinking about it! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!

Here is how the baby is growing this week ...(What a bizarre picture) Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and he measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the length of a small zucchini. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. If your baby is a girl, she has an astonishing six million eggs in her ovaries. They'll dwindle to fewer than two million by the time she's born.
