Daughter Day

On Friday night, Mady and Dad headed out to a Father-Daughter Dance. We all met up at Mady's friends house for pictures and then off they went to dance the night away.
While they were off dancing, mom and I decided to take advantage of the fact that mom was home alone with nothing to do. We planned a date night just for the two of us. Our night started with dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery. After looking over the menu we decided to split a side salad and each have the lemon herb chicken. Well, this must have gotten lost in the translation because our side salad came with no problem, but when the main course arrived, it was very small and our chicken breast was cut in two. We finally came to the conclusion that the waiter thought that we meant we wanted to split everything. Our suspicions were confirmed when the check came with only three items on it ...... a side salad, a lemon herb chicken dish and my root beer. We thought about telling the waiter to bring us the other half of our meal, but then we decided that it would be good for us to have a smaller dinner so we could pig out on other things later!!! So, we paid for our very small dinner and then headed over to the movie theater. We bought our tickets without incident and headed to the concessions. We decided on a very large diet coke (I ordered medium, but the large was only 50 cents more.. I'm a sucker for deals like that), a very large bag of popcorn, a bottle of water, and a box of mini Butterfingers. We arrived at the movie theater so early that we had finished all of our snacks before the movie even started. We saw Leatherheads which was good, but not great. Mom thought it was so good, she got a little nap in. After the movie, I drove her home and dropped her off and then headed home for bed. Today, Isabel and I are going to Disney on Ice, so I'm sure I'll have some more stories to come!
