Isabel's First Day of School

Today was Isabel's first day of preschool! She has been excited all week and this morning she woke up and couldn't wait to get ready for school. So, we bustled around, took some pictures, and headed off to school! Joel was even able to go into work late so that he could see Isabel off to her first day of school!! When we got to her classroom, she hurried over to find her hook and cubbie. She was not at all concerned with the fact that Joel and I were there. She wanted to get right over to where the rest of the class was. We figured that was our cue so we went over, said goodbye, and we left. That was it! No tears, no lingering hugs. I was a little sad that she didn't need me to be there for her, but very relieved at the same time that I was not one of the parents who was having to leave my screaming child behind. So, Gabe and I headed home to wait until it was time to pick Isabel up. When I got there to pick her up, she was all smiles and couldn't stop talking about all the things that she did. By the time we got home, she was already telling me that she wanted to go back to school. Hopefully she will still feel that way on Tuesday when it's time to go back!

I can't believe your kids are old enough to go to school! They're beautiful children too :) Thanks for visiting my site - it was good to hear from you.
