Chatter Box

In the last week or so, Gabe has suddenly started mimicing everything we say. He really wasn't saying much before then. He said Daddy and Mommy and "ma" (for mas - spanish for more), and he had sounds for things, but he wasn't actually talking. Imagine my surprise when I was making a pot of mac n cheese and I told him we had to get the milk out and he repeated me!!! Since then he has been talking about all kinds of things. He says milk and butter and ball and he has just learned to say Belly (for Isabel). Also, he says eye and points to his eye. A funny story about that ... I try to teach the kids some spanish words since a lot of my family speaks spanish and we grew up knowing some. When Gabe learned to say eye, I tried to teach him the spanish equivalent. He pointed to his eye and I would say "eye" and then he'd repeat me. We did this a couple of times and then after he repeated me I said "ojo". Instead of repeating me, he started laughing and he continues to laugh every time I say this word. Apparently that is the funniest word he has ever heard!

Up until yesterday I have been unable to upload videos onto our computer, so I've never been able to put one on our blog. This week, I had a brilliant idea and have managed to get a short video of Gabe talking onto the computer. I couldn't capture the "ojo" incident this time, but the rest is cute too. Hope you enjoy!
