2 Months!

I can't believe it's September already!!! What happened to our summer? We've had a very exciting month around here and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down! I'm happy to report that Alex has been a little trooper through it all. He's a happy baby and pretty much just goes with the flow!

He's becoming so much more interactive and fun! He smiles all the time and is starting to laugh more and more. I love to hear those baby giggles!!!! I have my last appointment with Merrie next week, so we'll find out how big he's gotten. Last time I saw her, in the middle of August, he was 11 lbs 1 oz. I'm guessing he's around 12 lbs now. He's getting rounder by the day!!! After this next appointment we'll be seeing the pediatrician. I honestly hate seeing the pediatrician!!

One of the big events this month was that I went back to work. My boss is GREAT and is very flexible and understand with me and my schedule. She is always saying that my most important job is being a mom. What a blessing to have a boss who gets that! I was able to take an extra week off to get Isabel settled into 1st grade (more on that later) and they allowed me to work 4 hours a day instead of my usual 6 to help us all get used to the new schedule. They also allowed me to take some work home to help make up for the hours I wasn't getting in the office. Pretty AWESOME, huh? The adjustment has been pretty easy on us all so I'm very thankful for that. Joel is staying home with the kids while I work and he's doing a fabulous job. Alex is doing a good job on the bottle and Joel is enjoying having the opportunity to feed him!

Sporting his old man face at the park.

This boy LOVES his Auntie Angela!

He likes to talk to the toys on his bouncy.

As I said before, Isabel started 1st grade in the middle of August so we've been up and out of the house by 7:45 each day! This does not make me happy since our sweet, adorable little Alex does not sleep at night. About a week before Isabel started school, he started to sleep really well and was only getting me up 2 times in the night with long stretches of sleep in between. I was so excited that he was getting on a schedule and that we were going to start getting some good sleep. Well, just in time for us to start Isabel's school schedule he stopped doing that and has been getting up about every 2 hours since then. Mama is exhausted!! I often spend the wee morning hours crying in my rocker while Alex eats ..... again!!!

Other than the extreme sleep deprivation, we are all doing very well. Isabel and Gabe continue to adore Alex and he loves them too. They can usually get him to smile like no one else! They are also a big help to me. Isabel is old enough (and grown up enough) to be able to hold him by herself on the couch and that's a big help when I need to throw in a load of laundry or take a potty break! Alex is getting so big and he's starting to lose that newborn look. Most people say he looks like Gabe, but I have had some people tell me he looks like my brother, Druh. What do you think?

Gabe at 2 months.

Druh at 2 months.

I really didn't see the resemblance to Druh before I started searching for pictures of him. Now I have to say my vote goes to Uncle Druh!!

He's growing into his bathtub!

Then....

Now!
