I'm already 24 weeks. I cannot believe it. I was thinking that I was only about 5 1/2 months pregnant, but the other day I was reading "What To Expect When You're Expecting" and I am actually almost 6 1/2 months pregnant! This has been going by so fast! I am feeling wonderful. I am finding it hard to bend over and get in and out of bed, but everything else is really great! I am feeling this baby move all the time. Mostly when I sit back and relax to read or watch a movie. He's pretty active, but not as temperamental as Isabel was. If I was holding another baby or toddler, she would always kick at them. That's our little Belly!!! Isabel is loving the idea of this new baby. She frequently comes over to kiss my belly and talk to the baby and she has started telling me "I want the baby to come out now." We are very behind on getting the room ready for this baby, but the other day I got out a box of her old onesies and unisex items and she was so thrilled she did not stop talking and giggling for about an hour. She is going to be a tremendous help to me when the baby comes .... and even before then. She is going to help me organize the baby clothes (when I get some) and is very excited to set up the crib. I'm so glad she is excited about things! She has even started agreeing with the fact that we are having a boy ... she used to say "no, it's a girl baby" whenever we told her it was a boy. We have our next midwife appointment next Thursday. We are looking foward to it. It seems like it has been a long time since we've had one. I'll let you know how it goes.
23 WEEKS ...Your baby is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound. His skin is red and wrinkled. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare him for breathing. He can swallow, but he normally won't pass his first stool (called meconium) until after birth. Loud noises heard often in utero — such as your dog barking or the roar of a vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze your baby when he hears them outside the womb.
