Snow Day

Well, two days ago it was 60 degrees out and we were wearing shorts and flip flops. Yesterday the temperature dropped below freezing and we had this crazy ice/snow storm. We accumulated 3 inches of snow in an hour and a half and we woke up this morning to a Winter Wonderland. Both Joel and I got to stay home from work today so we decided to bundle the kids up and go outside to play!

DISCLAIMER: Please do not judge us on Gabe's snow suite. (You'll see what I mean in a minute) We do not get enough of these big snow storms to warrant purchasing snow gear for the kids every year, so we try to make due with what we have in the house. Don't worry, he has outgrown it and will be getting his own BOY suite for the next storm!

Don't be confused by the pink suite ..... this is Gabe!!

Showing Gabe how to make a snow angel.

Our driveway was a solid sheet of ice with some snow on top, and I thought it might be the perfect conditions for sledding. As I said before, we don't keep a lot of snow gear around so we didn't have a sled on hand. Then I remembered that my friend Alexis used a pizza pan and THAT I did have!!! So, the kids had a great time sledding down the driveway on a pizza pan! Thanks, Alexis!!!

I'm glad I could be of help! The pizza pan worked great at our house but seriously, you live in Colorado- get a sled!! Your poor children. :) I just glad we are done with snow for the year!
