Boy, I think I've hit a new low on the blogging this summer. This has been a very upheaving (is that a word?) summer and I'm sorry to admit that blogging has not been on my list of priorities. I'm going to catch you all up on things and then I'm going to aim to do better during the fall!
I believe I left off in mid-July with our trip to Cripple Creek to ride the train. A couple of weeks after that Joel took each of the kids hiking individually. He wanted to spend some quality time with each of the kids and that gave me a little break from two and allowed me some quality time also! Apparently the two experiences were as different as night and day ..... Gabe LOVED every minute of it and wanted to lead and take charge and could have gone on and on.Joel's comment regarding Isabel's hiking trip was "it's like hiking with you"! She wanted to hold Joel's hand the whole time and he said she kept wanting to stop in the shade because she was hot. Yep, this sounds just like something I would say!! I sent them off with the camera and Joel did a good job of taking pictures for me!
The next day we took the kids fishing for the first time. Joel's brother and his family joined us so the kids had some playmates. The kids did more digging in the mud than they did fishing, but they had fun and that's all that matters! We did catch a few fish between all of us ... mostly on Uncle Paul's pole...but he let the kids reel the fish in and that's the best part so it was almost like they caught them themselves!
Notice Isabel carrying Tova around like a rag doll. Fortunately Tova doesn't mind most of the time. This is what happens when you only have boy cousins and a girl FINALLY comes along 4 years later :(
