Mother's Day Tea

This last Thursday I (and all the other moms) were invited to attend a Mother's Day Tea in Isabel's classroom. We all dressed up in our Sunday best and were escorted into the classroom by our little hosts. We had several handmade gifts waiting for us along with tea and treats to enjoy! When we had finished our tea we were treated to a lovely little serenade! The sweetness was overflowing!! I'm really going to miss Kindergarten :(

My little tender-heart having her traditional meltdown :(

Trying to keep it together ...

and she made a full recover!!
(I have to give her a pep talk before every school program or performance ... her big fear is having a room full of people staring at her. I decided to try to reason with her a little bit regarding this theory she has that all eyes are on her. I told her that all the other mommies there are looking at their own kids. I told her I would be the only one looking at her. Then I told her that when she cries in the middle of her program is makes EVERYONE look at her. So, if she didn't want anyone to stare at her then she just needed not to cry and no one would look at her but me. I think it worked!!!! She got a little weepy, but she didn't have a full blown meltdown like usual and she stuck it out and recovered! And I don't think anyone else even noticed!)

The sunflower that she planted for me in the pot she made with my name on it!

Isabel coordinated our outfits that morning so that we would match in purple .... both of our favorite color!

This is Mrs. Herd, Isabel's teacher. This woman has been the biggest blessing to us this year!!!! She genuinely loves those kids and she has nurtured and loved Isabel more than we could ever have hoped!! She also held regular Mom's Encouragement Groups throughout the year so we mom's could get together to visit and encourage each other. I've made some good friends and received some valuable advice through that group!
Isabel's Kindergarten year was amazing because of her! We are going to miss her next year. We are hoping Gabe gets her when he gets to Kindergarten so we can enjoy her again!!
(She also happens to be the mom of a friend I had in high school ... small world huh??)

Oh that is so awesome! Your little girl is so precious. I think that pep talk was a *great* way of putting it! You look adorable and I LOVE that your daughter coordinated you two :) So hope I have a little girl next haha Although I've heard little boys are awfully sweet on their moms for a good long while hehe
