10 Weeks Left:)

We had another appointment with Merrie this week. Everything is still going great. Merrie came to our house again, so that was very nice and relaxing! Isabel has become great friends with "Miss Merrie". She is fascinated with the bag of goodies that Merrie brings with her and has even started to tell Merrie where everything goes. She knows where the blood pressure cuff goes and that the Doppler needs jelly on it before it can go on my tummy. She has also started mimicing the sound of the baby's heartbeat. She thinks he is talking!! I'm glad she is so excited about this whole process! I am still measuring a couple of weeks ahead of schedule, but my belly is growing at a normal rate now ... not several weeks at a time. The baby is very active and gives Merrie fits when she is trying to find his heartbeat. He was in the 140's and 150's again this week. He is still sideways ... therefore, I still can't bend over or breathe. Hopefully he will turn soon so I can have some relief. We were given our supply list for the birth. We will start gathering those things together in the next couple of weeks. Merrie also recommended that I begin taking an Omega-3 supplement to prevent postpartum depression ... I'm pretty sure I had some of that after Isabel was born ... it was not fun. The only bad things about the Omega-3 are that it comes from fish oil and I'm told I will very likely burp up fish and I have to take a very high dosage so, on top of my 7 prenatals a day, I have to take about 6 Omega-3 pills. I'm popping pills all day long! I will go back to see Merrie in two weeks. We will visit her office this time because I have to do some bloodwork. After that, I think I will mostly be having my appointments at my house. Merrie lives close to me and says it's nicer for her to come to me when I'm HUMONGUS and uncomfortable. I agree!! Joel and I have decided to have another ultrasound when we go back in next time so that Merrie can measure the baby and we'll have a better idea of his size. Then we can know if he's a big boy or if it's some other factor contributing to my measurements. Plus, any excuse to peek into his private playground is good enough for me.

We set the crib up yesterday!!!!! WOO HOO!!! I have an actual baby's room now. We also bought the crib bedding this weekend, so not only do I have a crib, I have a crib that is ready for a baby to sleep in!! I love it I love it I love it!! The next step is painting which should be fun since Joel hates to paint! :)
Here is how the baby is growing this week ..... Your baby's a bit more than 15 1/2 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
