G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S

We went to a graduation/birthday BBQ for my best friend this afternoon. The party started outside, but when it started to rain, everyone came in. One of Isabel's best friends happens to be my best friend's daughter, so the girls were thrilled to be able to play together today!! When we came inside, they headed right for Mikenna's room and we didn't see them again for a good 30 mintutes or more. We settled in for a game of Twilight trivia and eventually the girls emerged at the top of the stairs. We immediately noticed that their cheeks were extra rosy and it looked like they were sporting black eyes. After some careful observation and a couple of questions we realized that they had been playing with makeup. No worries, we thought. They put on their makeup and now they'll move on to something else. WRONG! They went back into the room and every time they emerged they had on more makeup. Pretty soon, it was looking like they had just dipped their heads under the faucet. They were slicker than snot! They even had lip gloss in their hair and on their backs, legs, arms and stomachs. They were literally covered from head to toe in makeup. When we got home Isabel informed me that when I gave them a bath I needed to make sure to wash her belly button because she had put makeup in it. She wasn't kidding. I had to shampoo three times to remove the worst of it and I still didn't get it all. And to top it all off, one of the times they went back into the bedroom, Gabe followed them and they made him up while he was in there!! He came out with glitter hair and purple lips. Desite the mess, the kids were angels and kept themselves busy with the makeup for about 3 hours!! They said they were getting ready for the ball. When it was time to go home, we called them downstairs where Uncle Nelson had prepared a ball with big plates of cake! It was a fun day and the kids were so tired, they were in bed and asleep by 7! I'd say it was worth all the clean up!!

These pictures really don't do it justice!
